TOLSTOY THE TOMATO THIEF

CAUSE: Animal & Wildlife Protection

CATEGORY: Film

PROJECT DIRECTOR: Kire Godal

TOLSTOY THE TOMATO THIEF is a feature length film that tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a farm boy and his sworn enemy, a large bull elephant. Tolstoy is a 48 year old elephant who was raised in wild Africa, where animals outnumbered people, and the Maasai nomads kept to themselves. As the areas of Wild Africa are developed, Tolstoy watches humans zip by in new cars and motorcycles, and build farms next to his river, growing fresh tomatoes that he is forbidden from enjoying.
